Choosing the right worktop is one of the most important decisions you will make when designing a new kitchen. It needs to balance your desired aesthetic with everyday functionality, structural strength and low maintenance.
In your worktop research, you’ve likely come across Caesarstone, a brand that’s been pioneering engineered worktop surfaces for kitchens and bathrooms for nearly 40 years. As a brand, we’ve evolved from being pioneers in the quartz worktop surfaces industry to offering our customers multiple material options ideal for every interior and exterior space that outperform natural stone in stain resistance, hygiene and design versatility.
The Caesarstone portfolio
To help you choose the best surface for your project, here’s a guide of Caesarstone's material categories and iconic worktop designs.
Caesarstone Quartz
Quartz worktops are engineered surfaces that Caesarstone pioneered, combining natural minerals with advanced material science to deliver distinct performance advantages over marble, granite, and other traditional materials. Caesarstone quartz worktops are exceptionally hard and non-porous, offering the luxurious veining of natural marble or rich tactile textures without the natural vulnerabilities of real stone.
Popular designs in this collection include 5151 Empira White, a classical marble-look quartz featuring a crisp white base with delicate grey veining, and 5820 Darcrest, an elegant, dark earthy surface with rich contrast.
Case Study: Former Bake-Off Contestant Manon Lagrève’s London Kitchen renovation
If you’d like to see how our quartz worktops could work for you, former Great British Bake Off star Manon Lagrève selected Caesarstone quartz worktops for her bright, French-inspired family kitchen, benefiting from a hygienic canvas ideal for daily baking in her kitchen renovation. She chose Caesarstone’s 5212 Taj Royale surface at the heart of the design to complement the overall atmosphere of the kitchen and characterful Victorian space.

Another brilliant example of Caesarstone quartz worktops is in the home of Michelin-starred chef Shaun Rankin, who chose 6046 Moorland Fog quartz surfaces for his Yorkshire home. His choice anchors his island and prep areas with a surface built to handle rigorous culinary use as well as complement the harmonious palette of natural wood tones, soft pale grey and muted grey-blue cabinetry.

Given the speed of our product transition and increasing market awareness around low- and zero-silica surface materials, Caesarstone's strategic direction of travel is moving rapidly forward. A number of best-selling Caesarstone designs previously only available in quartz are now newly available in our ICON technology. This evolution brings key advantages, such as 0% crystalline silica content*, the integration of up to 85% recycled materials, and enhanced eco-conscious performance, to our most sought-after aesthetics. While a select portfolio of core quartz surfaces remains available during this phase, and some popular classic designs have not yet migrated to the new formula, our active focus and innovation pipeline are firmly dedicated to delivering these progressive material benefits across our complete portfolio.
Caesarstone ICON
Representing our latest leap in sustainable surface innovation, Caesarstone ICON is an advanced fusion surface category made with ~85% recycled materials and is crystalline silica-free*. ICON provides rich aesthetic depth, full-body designs and extreme durability for eco-conscious homes. Since 2026, all new designs launched to the market have been crafted using ICON technology rather than traditional quartz, unlocking distinct aesthetic opportunities and tactile depth through groundbreaking releases such as 8477 Ocean Sage, 8250 Andes Trail, and 8252 Sedara.
Alongside these new additions, we offer a number of other beautiful ICON designs, both new and reimagined popular designs, including:
- 5131 Calacatta Nuvo is a classic marble-look surface capturing the cascading grey veins and soft white base of natural Calacatta marble.
- 8104 Calacatta Thyme, featuring soft green and warm grey veining over a clean background, and beautifully complements dark wood finishes and metallic hardware.
- 4011 Cloudburst Concrete, a reimagined concrete-effect design offering a soft, weathered grey industrial finish with delicate tactile texture.

Case study: Bringing warmth and elegance to a coastal kitchen
Caesarstone ICON can help bring kitchens to life, like in the coastal kitchen belonging to Ang Jackson, an interior designer who chose Caesarstone’s 5113 Solenna worktop to quietly tie the design together. 5113 Solenna’s warm bone-white base and earthy veins, putty-grey lines and subtle flashes of amber, perfectly complement the calm, natural palette of the cabinets and vintage dresser, creating a cohesive look.
Case Study: A Timeless Kitchen Reimagined - Lisa Dawson’s York Home
Interior blogger Lisa Dawson also used ICON to refresh her Victorian terraced home, showing how sustainable surface technology sits alongside period architecture. Having previously worked with Caesarstone, she knew right away it’s what she wanted again - “Amidst all the transformations, one element always stayed the same: my Caesarstone worktop”. For her York kitchen, Lisa selected Caesarstone 4011 Cloudburst Concrete to sit alongside her contemporary cabinetry and vintage finds – “I didn’t know anything about the ICON fusion surfaces before I visited the studio, but Caesarstone’s showroom co-ordinator was so helpful and informative.”
Caesarstone Porcelain
Our Caesarstone porcelain range marks a step-change in functionality and design by introducing innovative properties that deliver a high degree of durability, strength and style. These worktops are surfaces that are heat-proof, non-porous and UV-resistant, making them ideal for indoor and outdoor kitchens.
Standout choices from the catalogue include 501 Snowdrift, a pristine white porcelain surface designed for bright contemporary spaces, 506 Mirabel, which features subtle, sweeping grey veins against an ivory background, and 582 Dolcivio, a rich neutral tone bringing understated warmth to high-traffic areas.

Case Study: Sharon Hornsby’s kitchen renovation with Caesarstone 506 Mirabel
Another fantastic example is the use of Caesarstone 506 Mirabel porcelain worktop, selected by interior stylist Sharon Hornsby, to achieve a marble look during her kitchen renovation. This transformation not only met the functional needs of her family but also embraced design and durability, which is where Caesarstone porcelain came in.
Frequently asked questions
What material is Caesarstone?
Caesarstone is a global brand of premium engineered surfaces rather than a single material. Under the Caesarstone brand, homeowners can choose from distinct design possibilities spanning three primary surface material options: Caesarstone ICON (advanced fusion surfaces), porcelain and quartz.
What is Caesarstone made of?
The exact material composition depends on the product line. Caesarstone quartz consists mostly of natural quartz. Caesarstone porcelain is made from natural materials and formed under intense heat. Caesarstone ICON uses an advanced patent-pending blend containing ~85% recycled materials and is crystalline silica-free*.
Our product material content can be found in our Safety Data Sheets that are publicly available on our Master of Stone website, demonstrating our commitment to transparent material provenance.
Is Caesarstone quartz or granite?
Caesarstone is not granite. Granite is a 100% natural, porous stone quarried directly from the earth that requires routine sealing to prevent stains and bacterial growth. While Caesarstone offers quartz worktops that captures the beauty of natural stone, engineered quartz is non-porous, hygienic and never requires sealing.
As well as engineered quartz, Caesarstone also offers ICON advanced fusion surfaces and porcelain surfaces. Regardless of which Caesarstone model you choose, you can be assured of a non-porous, hygienic worktop surface that will never require sealing.
Is Caesarstone cheaper than natural stone?
Some Caesarstone designs, such as from our Essentials price group, are more affordable than high-end natural stones like Calacatta marble or exotic quartzites, whilst our premium range aligns closely with luxury natural stone prices. In terms of long-term value, Caesarstone is typically more cost-effective over its lifecycle because it requires zero ongoing chemical sealing, resists heavy daily wear, and comes protected by a comprehensive warranty.
