Interior designer, Ang Jackson of @stillbythesands, revitalised her kitchen with Caesarstone 5113 Solenna, creating a light, welcoming and timeless space that balances elegance with everyday living.
For interior designer and content creator Ang Jackson of @stillbythesandshome, the kitchen is much more than a place to cook - it’s the heart of the home she shares with her husband and their three-year-old whippet, Wesley. When she set out to renovate her previously dark kitchen, Ang knew the space needed to feel open, calming and energising. At the centre of this transformation is Caesarstone’s 5113 Solenna worktop, which quietly ties the design together.
“I wanted a kitchen that felt welcoming and lived-in — a space where design and everyday life could coexist seamlessly,” she explains. This sense of warmth and practicality extends throughout the room, making it both elegant and highly functional.
The renovation was inspired by a desire to move away from heavy, closed-in spaces toward a room that invites natural light and social interaction. Ang chose handmade, in-frame off-white cabinetry for its timeless, bespoke feel, complemented by a classic butler’s sink from Shaws of Darwen, a bronze hot water tap from Perrin & Rowe and a traditional range cooker from Rangemaster. Industrial-style pendant lighting and LAM Lighting wall lights add a hint of whimsy, while textured limewash walls introduce warmth and subtle movement. Even the cabinet hardware and vintage dresser - originally from a private girls’ school science lab - were chosen to create a lived-in, layered aesthetic.

Yet, for Ang, it is Caesarstone 5113 Solenna that truly defines the space. “I went through so many samples before finding this one,” she says. “I wanted gentle brown and grey veining to tie in with the cabinetry and flooring, but it couldn’t be too bold. It needed to feel elegant and quiet, like it belonged - and this one does.” The surface runs across the full cabinetry run and island, as well as the splashback behind the cooker, which has been crafted with a more geometric and ornate edge to echo the room’s character. 5113 Solenna’s warm bone-white base, overlaid with earthy veins, putty-grey lines and subtle flashes of amber, perfectly complements the calm, natural palette, creating a cohesive and grounded environment. Ang says: “5113 Solenna is honestly the piece that pulls everything together. What I love most is that it changes with the light - in the morning, it feels fresh and bright, and by evening it has this lovely warmth that grounds the room. It’s one of those surfaces that quietly does all the work.”

The choice of Caesarstone was also about more than aesthetics. Ang notes: “The whole experience with Caesarstone was fantastic. I had a virtual showroom appointment where I could see the slabs up close, and then spoke with one of their technical specialists about specifying and caring for a Caesarstone surface, which was new to me. The service was so personal and detailed. They even recommended a local fabricator who came to template and fit the surface, and it all went seamlessly.”
As well as the beautiful designs available, what truly sets Caesarstone apart is the confidence it gives homeowners throughout the entire renovation process. From the careful guidance on choosing the right surface to the practical advice on care and maintenance, every stage is supported with expertise and attention to detail.
