Many homeowners, after carefully looking at samples, reading case studies online or in leading interiors titles, or even visiting a showroom, will fall in love with their dream Caesarstone worktop surface, only to be then (incorrectly) told that Caesarstone worktops are out of reach for their kitchen budget.
“Caesarstone is too expensive” is one of the biggest misconceptions in the UK worktop market. In some cases, retailers or installers will promote alternative materials as “similar” or “better value”, when the reality is that many of these products lack the same testing, safety credentials and long-term performance of Caesarstone.
Many homeowners may not be aware that many suppliers may have a commercial incentive to steer them away from choosing Caesarstone, and that prices may be artificially inflated. The reality is whilst Caesarstone surfaces are known for their premium nature, heritage, quality and design, the real price differential against untested and unbranded engineered stones could only be a few hundred pounds in an average kitchen, and negligible when considered over the expected lifespan of a kitchen refurbishment.
The truth is Caesarstone represents exceptional long-term value compared with alternatives that may appear cheaper at first glance.
Don’t pay more for less
Caesarstone worktops are known for their design leadership, long-lasting performance and beautiful, trend-forward aesthetics. Caesarstone surfaces are also available at a wide range of price points, with leadings designs often far more attainable than might initially be expected, and all come with the benefit of leading aesthetics, superior durability, and a lifetime warranty for complete peace of mind.
Whether you’re renovating a compact apartment kitchen or designing your dream family space, there’s always a Caesarstone surface to suit your style and your budget.
Understanding your worktop options
In recent years, there is more choice of stone or porcelain worktops than ever before for homeowners, but when choosing your next kitchen worktop, make sure you do your due diligence. There is an abundance of material now in the market that is promoted as the ‘same as’ leading brands like Caesarstone, but the reality is often these products, of vague or ambiguous provenance, are untested and offer no or very limited support should things go wrong.
Of even more concern, few stone manufacturers have the same consideration for safety and performance as Caesarstone; reputable stone suppliers should be able to provide technical data sheets, safety documentation and third-party certification. If an alternative product looks cheap at first glance, but is missing key performance or safety documentation, the truth is you could be paying a lot more in the long-term, particularly for a surface that should be at the heart of family life.
Caesarstone has been designing and manufacturing engineered stone worktops for nearly 40 years; we provide surfaces that will look and perform beautifully for many years after installation, something we guarantee with our lifetime warranty. When choosing your next kitchen surface, make sure you choose a brand you can trust for the long-term.
What goes into the cost of a Caesarstone worktop?
Every worktop quote is made up of three core components:
1. Material
Caesarstone quartz, mineral and ICON surfaces are grouped into price tiers (ranging from Essentials Price Group 0 through to Premium Price Group 5), mainly reflecting design complexity, patterning and finish. Our Porcelain surfaces are similarly priced, with more unique designs costing a little more.
2. Templating
A professional team measures your kitchen to ensure a precision fit for your final worktop. This will include recording appliance locations, identifying any finishing touches, such as splashbacks or waterfalls, and checking with you if you’d like additional applications with negligible cost impacts, such as windowsills or upstands.
3. Fabrication & Installation
This includes cutting, edging, polishing, cut-outs (e.g., hob, sink) and professional installation.
While template and fit are usually consistent regardless of the material selected, the main cost difference comes from the chosen Caesarstone price group.
Caesarstone can support you with finding a quote from a trusted fabricator, that fits your style and budget.
