Caesarstone’s 4023 Topus Concrete lends tactile, industrial appeal to this tranquil kitchen and living space designed by Inglis Hall.
In this impeccably styled Victorian villa in Hove, kitchen studio, Inglis Hall, created a culinary hub for a couple who envisioned a fusion of Japandi and mid-century aesthetics. The space features clean lines and earthy tones, and embraces natural light with a lush garden view.
Caesarstone’s 4023 Topus Concrete surface was chosen for the worktops as it offers a seamless balance between style and durability. Its authentic, tactile finish pairs beautifully with the warm walnut cabinetry, black Fenix units, and grey stone floors – creating an industrial yet warm, zen atmosphere.
Discussing the design process, Designer, Jay Powell, says: “We opened up the rear of the house with a new extension and designed connected living spaces with dual access to the secluded garden. The brief was to create a beautiful and functional kitchen that flowed between the dining and sitting room. The clients value traditional craftsmanship and required durable materials that would stand the test of time – as well as their two large, rumbustious dogs.”
Inglis Hall used the existing architecture to create functional zones throughout the space. Structural piers created niches to house the bulkiest appliances and large hard-working cabinetry, allowing natural zoning of storage and cooking areas. A Caesarstone-topped peninsula offers a generous workspace – elevating the kitchen’s aesthetic and functionality and acting as the foundation for an abundance of daily activities.
“Focusing on the clients’ desires to create a calm, tranquil series of living spaces, we selected earthy and rugged materials. The work surface is very important as it ties the entire material palette together, connecting the spaces as one. A single material – Topus Concrete – was used across the sink run, cooking zone, and living area gallery space, creating a beautifully cohesive look,” says Powell.
“The warmth, tactile texture, and durability of Topus Concrete won the clients over immediately,” he continues. “Caesarstone consistently delivers excellence from product quality and aesthetics to customer service and aftercare support. The brand continues to innovate in material options and styles, and their conscious sustainability ethos is something our clients and ourselves really value.”
The resulting kitchen is a contemporary yet inviting hub for cooking and gathering, that marries contemporary design with organic tones. The concrete-inspired Caesarstone surface harmonises with the softness of the wood cabinetry to create a beautifully balanced setting.
The non-porous nature of Caesarstone’s surface designs ensures that they are highly resistant to stains, scratches, and heat – meaning this couple can enjoy the beauty of their serene kitchen without the stress of constant maintenance. For added peace of mind, Caesarstone offers a unique Lifetime Warranty for all residential applications, giving both Inglis Hall and their clients confidence in the enduring durability of their worktop choice.
