Interior designer Revital Marciano was brought in to transform the space, ensuring a seamless flow between the kitchen and living area while maintaining a modern, cohesive design.  ![caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-cost-preview](https://blog.caesarstone.co.uk/hubfs/caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-cost-preview.webp) APPROX. [Caesarstone’s 504 Lumena Porcelain surface](https://www.caesarstone.co.uk/catalogue/504-lumena-porcelain-worktop/), with its soft white base and delicate grey veining, became the perfect centrepiece. “We chose a porcelain surface for practical reasons,” explains Marciano. “The couple wanted a resilient surface without needing to worry about scratches or heat damage. When we explored colour options, we found Lumena - its subtle white and grey tones complemented the floor tiles perfectly. It was an ideal match.” ![Open plan modern kitchen with Caesarstone Lumena porcelain worktops and island](https://blog.caesarstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-02.webp?width=1440&height=960&name=caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-02.webp) Lumena was used throughout the kitchen, from the worktops and splashback to a striking waterfall-edged island. The island not only serves as a focal point but also subtly divides the open-plan kitchen and living space. To balance the monochromatic palette, Marciano introduced thoughtful design elements: soft grey furnishings, light kitchen cabinetry and white curtains, contrasted with black bar stools, a dark coffee table and sleek black AC slats. To further enhance the warmth of the design, Marciano incorporated a walnut-toned niche beneath the TV unit, a brass table lamp and abstract artwork in earthy hues. These subtle touches ensure that the space feels inviting while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic. “All elements were chosen together to create an ambience that’s both refined and harmonious,” says Marciano. “Our goal was to design a space that feels greater than the sum of its parts. The calming atmosphere speaks for itself.” ![caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-03](https://blog.caesarstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-03.webp?width=1440&height=960&name=caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-03.webp) The integration of Caesarstone’s Lumena worktops not only enhanced the design of the home but also provided a durable and easy-to-maintain solution for the family. Commenting on the versatility of porcelain surfaces, Jonathan Stanley, VP of Marketing for Caesarstone, says: "Porcelain’s manufacturing process allows for the creation of bold designs and dramatic colours that are more challenging to achieve with other materials. Whether you prefer a sleek, industrial look or a softer, more natural atmosphere, porcelain provides a wide range of aesthetic options." ![caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-04](https://blog.caesarstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-04.webp?width=1440&height=960&name=caesarstone-revital-marciano-lumena-04.webp) Ready to elevate your kitchen design?
