Caesarstone’s 6338 Woodlands surface brings elegance and durability to this Kensington family kitchen, creating a luxurious yet practical space for cooking and entertaining.
In the heart of Kensington, London, YEO Design was tasked with transforming a family’s kitchen into a luxurious yet functional space, and Caesarstone played a key role in bringing this vision to life with its elegant 6338 Woodlands surface.
The clients wanted an open-plan kitchen that would serve as both an entertaining hub and a welcoming family space. With this in mind, YEO Design collaborated with design and build company NTJ London to create a scheme that balanced style and practicality, ensuring a seamless flow between cooking, socialising, and family activities.
The design required careful consideration of three distinct areas – the cooking, prep and dining zones - ensuring that each felt connected while maintaining its unique purpose. At the centre of the kitchen is a large island with a breakfast bar, serving as a natural gathering point for family meals and casual entertaining. The open-plan layout makes it easy for family members to interact across the space, creating a dynamic environment perfect for both everyday living and hosting guests.
For the surfaces, the clients had a clear vision. They wanted the luxurious look of brown marble but sought a more durable and practical alternative to natural stone. Caesarstone’s Woodlands was the ideal choice, offering the beautiful marble-like appearance they desired with the added benefit of being low-maintenance and highly durable. Its rich dark chocolate base showcases bold yet graceful earthy veining, adding depth to the space. The surface tops the main run of cabinetry and elegantly cascades over the edges of the large waterfall island, creating a striking visual impact. Easy to clean and maintain, it offers peace of mind without sacrificing style, making it the perfect choice for a space that sees frequent use by both the family and guests. Plus, with Caesarstone’s Lifetime Warranty, the homeowners can be assured of the quality and longevity of their investment, further enhancing their confidence in the selection.
Commenting on the rising trend for dark worktops in interior design, Caesarstone’s Head of Design, Mor Krisher, says: “These surfaces are bold and dramatic, with various nuances, tones, and tactilities that give them different characters. We look for inspiration everywhere, and to design a series of products that truly capture the trend for dark interiors and kitchens, we turn our attention to the outside world, drawing on the rich palettes of nature to create surfaces that resonate with elegance and sophistication.”
In addition to the Caesarstone worktops, YEO Design incorporated premium appliances and fixtures from brands such as Bora, Miele, Liebherr, Richlite, and Watermark. These carefully selected elements contribute to a kitchen that is not only visually striking but also built for high performance and longevity.
