With a focus on creating a warm, inviting, and durable environment, the family wanted a kitchen that would support their busy lifestyle and serve as the perfect setting for cherished moments spent around the table. Mowlem & Co approached this project with a focus on both aesthetics and practicality. The design aimed to create a kitchen that felt connected to the rest of the home, opening up into the casual living area to encourage interaction. The family wanted a space where they could effortlessly transition from cooking to socialising, making it a natural hub for both everyday use and entertaining guests. ![Close-up of Caesarstone Frosty Carrina worktops in a timeless kitchen](https://blog.caesarstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/caesarstone-mowlem-co-frosty-carrina-02.webp?width=1440&height=960&name=caesarstone-mowlem-co-frosty-carrina-02.webp)Central to the design is Caesarstone’s Frosty Carrina, a timeless ivory surface with delicate powder-grey veining that brings sophistication and a contemporary edge to the space. This versatile surface beautifully complements the Shaker style cabinetry, painted in a light grey tone, with cock-beading and quarter-beading details adding a classic English charm. The design seamlessly blends traditional and modern elements, with additional touches such as Armac Martin handles and a mirror splashback enhancing the space’s elegant, yet contemporary feel. Lois Riley, Designer at Mowlem & Co, explains: “The clients were drawn to Caesarstone products, and fell in love with the neutral background and intricate details of Frosty Carrina, which instantly adds elegance to the kitchen design.” While other surface brands were considered, Caesarstone stood out for its design excellence, robust quality, and competitive pricing. ![Caesarstone Frosty Carrina worksurfaces in a transitional kitchen](https://blog.caesarstone.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/caesarstone-mowlem-co-frosty-carrina-03.webp?width=1440&height=960&name=caesarstone-mowlem-co-frosty-carrina-03.webp)Riley continues: “At Mowlem & Co, we always recommend Caesarstone for its durability. The family needed a space to cook in without worrying about having a natural stone, which requires ongoing maintenance due to its porous nature. Caesarstone has an excellent range of colours, and we particularly like the concrete-inspired designs, which bring a unique touch to the kitchen.” Unlike natural stone surfaces, which can be porous and require regular sealing, Caesarstone is non-porous, stain-resistant, and easy to clean – making it ideal for a busy family kitchen. These low-maintenance qualities ensure the surface retains its beauty without the need for extensive upkeep. Additionally, Caesarstone's commitment to quality is backed by a [Lifetime Warranty for residential applications](https://www.caesarstone.co.uk/warranty/), offering families peace of mind and ensuring their kitchens remain functional and stylish hubs for years to come. High-quality brands were selected to enhance this space further, including a Quooker tap, Miele and Siemens appliances, and a custom Westin cooker hood – all of which reflect the family’s taste for quality and functionality. Through carefully chosen details and thoughtful design, this kitchen embodies an elegant yet practical space where family life unfolds. Are you excited to start planning your dream kitchen?
