Caesarstone 4043 Primordia runs throughout this thoughtfully crafted kitchen, utility and pantry, offering a seamless blend of superior performance, natural texture and refined industrial character.
In this breath-taking new-build home surrounded by the sweeping low weald of East Sussex, a creative couple envisioned something bold yet timeless. With two teenagers, two dogs, and a pair of horses, their rural retreat needed to offer practicality for everyday life, while still reflecting their appreciation for good design, craft and natural materials.
Working with Hapa Architects on the contemporary brick, steel and glass structure, the couple turned to Inglis Hall to bring their kitchen to life, placing Caesarstone at the heart of the design.
From the start, the brief was clear. The kitchen needed to serve as a hardworking space for cooking, gathering and family life, while complementing the architectural ambitions of the home. With no restrictions from an existing layout, Inglis Hall approached the project as a true blank canvas where natural textures, craftsmanship and a sense of rhythm could take centre stage.
At the core of space is a surface choice that perfectly captures the clients’ vision of industrial luxe with timeless durability - Caesarstone’s 4043 Primordia. With its weathered concrete aesthetic, layered with mineral accents of off-white, grey and washed green, it brings depth and authenticity to the scheme. Used across the sink runs, walk-in pantry and utility room, Primordia acts as a unifying thread throughout the kitchen and its adjoining spaces, providing continuity and cohesion in both tone and texture.
The overall industrial feel is achieved not through a single element, but through the considered combination of concrete-effect surfaces, blackened and raw band-sawn oak and smooth Richlite cabinetry. A mix of finishes, from flat-smooth to classic shiplap, adds nuance and tactility, creating a dialogue between the traditional and the contemporary.
Durability was key to the project, but so too was a commitment to craft. Caesarstone’s surfaces are the result of years of research and design innovation, with the in-house design team developing each material’s tone, pattern and texture to ensure timeless appeal and real-world resilience. As Designer and Project Manager Jay Powell explains, “Caesarstone understands what our clients are looking for - surfaces that either complement or contrast our cabinetry with honesty and elegance.”
Blending modern industrial influence with natural materials and layered craftsmanship, this kitchen and its supporting spaces are a confident response to the demands of contemporary rural living. Their design is grounded in function, built to last and crafted to inspire.
