Caesarstone’s 5031 Statuario Maximus and 4001 Fresh Concrete surfaces selected for a sleek and sociable Sussex kitchen.

Sussex-based kitchen maker, Inglis Hall, was tasked with crafting a sociable, contemporary culinary extension that would fit seamlessly into a couple’s otherwise traditional countryside residence. To bring this to life, the design team opted for a furniture palette of matte green-grey and fumed oak veneer, topped with Caesarstone’s 5031 Statuario Maximus and 4001 Fresh Concrete surfaces, and accessorised with burnished brass hardware.

Joe Turner, Design Project Manager at Inglis Hall, explained: “The clients had downsized, but perhaps a bit too much, so they decided to extend the home’s downstairs to celebrate their beautiful views over the Ashdown Forest. The couple’s children have flown the nest, but being keen entertainers, they wanted a space worthy of regular family gatherings – somewhere cooking and conversation would thrive in unison.”

Caesarstone ticked all these boxes, marrying resilience with impeccable design. “The kitchen cabinets against the walls are matte so we added some interest with a Statuario Maximus worktop and splashback – which takes inspiration from the timeless luxury of marble,” said Joe.

“In contrast, for the island cabinets we used crown-cut fumed oak veneer, which has a dramatic grain pattern. Fresh Concrete’s rugged texture and pale grey hue beautifully offset the warmth of the wood.”

The opulent, polished marble-inspired surface calls upon the property’s heritage, whilst the industrial concrete look maintains a contemporary edge. Whilst two-tone kitchen cabinets have been trending for some time, pairing contrasting surfaces is a fresh way to create intrigue.

Having used Caesarstone in multiple projects previously, Joe was aware of the benefits of choosing a Caesarstone surface. He shared, “We love Caesarstone’s range of colours and finishes, and specify the material often, appreciating the high quality and versatility. Caesarstone surfaces have a natural look and authentic feel to them which can be very hard to find with man-made products.

Whether it is in the motion and beauty of a sandy coastline, the stillness and calm of a desert landscape, or the urban textures and patinas seen in metropolitan cities, Caesarstone is constantly looking to nature to inspire its surfaces which are each years in the making.
