Case Study: Caesarstone Porcelain collection adds joy factor to outdoor country kitchen

With the garden fast becoming another ‘room’ in the home, content creators Lydia Millen (@lydiamillen) and Ali Gordon (@aligordon) decided to transform their outdoor space to create the ultimate outdoor kitchen, topped with Caesarstone’s 540 Monumental.

A keen gardener who also loves to host and entertain, Lydia felt an outdoor kitchen would be a natural extension of her and Ali’s home, providing the perfect space for garden parties and relaxed alfresco gatherings. “We’ve dreamt about entertaining in this space for so long and seeing it come to life has surpassed all expectations”, says Lydia.

Outdoor kitchen featuring Caesarstone Porcelain worktopsMatching the country aesthetics of the rest of the property, the U-shaped kitchen features bespoke wooden cabinetry with traditional black handles. A reclaimed stone sink by Burgess Reclamation paired with antique brass pillar taps by Perrin & Rowe sits near a pizza oven, whilst a Big Green Egg ceramic barbecue adds contemporary versatility to the space. The red brick feature in the middle of the traditional flagstone paving complements the pizza oven, back wall and steps leading to the kitchen, adding interest to the flooring.

Caesarstone’s 540 Monumental in an Ultra-Rough finish fits seamlessly into the scheme, bringing an organic feel to the space. With its elegant grey base and a combination of soft off-white markings and dark-grey veining, 540 Monumental draws inspiration from the patterns and oxidised elements found in natural stone. When describing the design, Lydia shares: “We opted for 540 Monumental worktops to contrast against the oak units. Combining practicality with beauty, I fell in love with the organic patterns that run throughout the surface and the slightly rougher grain that looks and feels natural to touch. It’s like it’s always belonged here and that brings me so much joy.”

Commenting on the rise in popularity of outdoor kitchens, Mor Krisher, Head of Product Design at Caesarstone, explains: “The outdoor kitchen market is growing rapidly, and we have seen an increasing desire for year-round garden entertaining. Don’t make the mistake of choosing the wrong material. Natural stone, such as marble, is highly susceptible to staining, especially in high-traffic, exposed areas such as your outdoor kitchen and garden. To avoid substantial staining, you would have to seal your natural stone surfaces at least annually. Non-porous, durable, easy-to-clean and scratch, stain, mould and mildew resistant, Caesarstone’s surfaces promise to live up to the demands of the glorious outdoors without the need for any high maintenance. Plus, all Caesarstone surfaces are meticulously tested to withstand harsh sunlight and variable temperatures, ensuring they always remain highly UV and weather resistant for years to come.”
