# Case Study: How Samantha Silver designed her dream laundry and utility spaces with Caesarstone

When beauty journalist and content creator Samantha Silver ([@thisismothership](https://www.instagram.com/thisismothership/?hl=en)) set about renovating her North West London home, practicality and durability were just as crucial as aesthetics. With two energetic boys aged 7 and 10, and a husband equally immersed in busy family life, Samantha knew that hardworking areas like the laundry and utility rooms needed to seamlessly marry form and function. “With two sports-obsessed boys, I spend my life washing sports kits,” she says. “The one thing I was so desperate to achieve was an upstairs laundry room – it was a non-negotiable.” As part of a major build – including removing the roof, knocking down the back wall, and living through the winter without windows – Samantha and her family repurposed a spare bedroom to create her dream laundry space on the first floor. “It has changed my life. Washing is now a joy to do in such a beautiful room. I have space to iron, fold, and everything is so much easier to put away.”

The laundry room’s calm, tailored aesthetic features floor-to-ceiling cabinetry in a soft, warm beige. “Because this is a high traffic, working space that gets dirty fast, it was really important that the worktop was built to last. But I wanted it to look pretty too – and Mirabel did just that,” she says. “It’s pure perfection and a real statement that everyone comments on.”

With the washer and dryer now conveniently located upstairs, the ground floor utility room was reimagined to serve a different purpose. “Downstairs, I really wanted to make more space for boots, shoes, bags and coats,” says Samantha. “By moving the laundry appliances, we were able to do just that.”
