In the heart of southwest London, Caesarstone's 4043 Primordia worktop surface breathes life into a kitchen designed for modern family life.

In the riverside suburb of St Margarets, south-west London, a full house refurbishment culminated in the creation of a kitchen that balances everyday practicality with refined design. At the heart of this transformation is Caesarstone 4043 Primordia, a surface that brings industrial character, warmth and enduring performance to a space designed for modern family life.

The clients, a family of four, wanted a kitchen that could support the rhythm of daily living while also serving as a hub for entertaining. Their brief called for a traditional aesthetic with freestanding appliances, bar seating and a dining table for gatherings. Materials were key to the vision, with a palette of black steel, oak, stained oak and matt lacquer cabinetry featuring thin shaker detailing.

Caesarstone 4043 Primordia was selected early in the process for its ability to unify the scheme. Its light concrete coloured base, organic tonal variation and weathered patina echo the hues of poured resin flooring and natural timber, creating a harmonious flow throughout the space.

Like all other Caesarstone surfaces, Primordia is engineered for resilience. It is resistant to stains, scratches, heat, and moisture, making it suitable for high-traffic areas of the home, such as the kitchen. The surface’s low-maintenance nature means it retains its beauty with minimal upkeep and ensures seamless integration across multiple applications.

A textured tile chosen by the clients adds depth to the scheme, a trough built into the island worktop doubles as a herb planter or ice well when entertaining, while powder-coated steel aerial shelving with integrated lighting and a wine glass rail gives both drama and functionality, maintaining an industrial edge. Appliances and fittings from Liebherr, Quooker, and Rangemaster were chosen to complement the scheme, reinforcing the kitchen’s blend of style and substance.

“Working with Caesarstone is always a smooth experience,” says Hawkswell. “Their product development continues to impress, and the support from the showroom team makes it easy to deliver outstanding results for clients.”
